Take Action!
By John M. Rowley
"The great end
of life is not knowledge but action."
Thomas Huxley
The world doesn't reward us for what we know;
it rewards us for what we do. For those that are in control of their
own destiny, action is the key. On any given day by the coffee pot
in most sales offices across America lies an expert that is starving
even though he knows exactly what to do. They know absolutely everything
about their product and how to sell it yet never makes a dime. He
or she is very quick to offer unsolicited advice to anyone that
will listen yet they don't produce. People like this should listened
to what Richard Keeves has to say, "Knowledge might be power, but
only when you take action." The key is to DO something, not to just
talk about it. Put your coffee down and get to work!
Success in life isn't easy but it is simple. Just
take massive action every day until you achieve the life of your
dreams. When you try something and it doesn't work, change your
strategy. Selfgrowth.com helps with this by giving countless resources
of how others have succeeded from all walks of life. All you have
to do is put a plan together and take action. If something isn't
working, try something else. Period!
Larry Heagney is my Uncle and highly successful
in the business world. He was also a D student. He just squeaked
through college and law school but ended up being a highly successful
corporate officer at Milliken Textiles and was rewarded well for
his efforts. He has now retired from the corporate world and is
an extremely successful investor living in an exclusive gated community
in Florida. Uncle Larry would always tell me that if I would just
be the best at what I was doing, I would always be successful in
life. It doesn't matter if you are a doctor, lawyer or garbage man
he would say, just be the best and the world will notice.
Uncle Larry didn't succeed in the business world
because of his education, he succeeded despite his education. If
the business world judged him based on his grades he would have
landed a job in the stock room instead of the board room. He would
have been given a mop to clean the executive rest rooms instead
of being given the key to it. I know many people that had all the
tools and many advantages that my uncle never had, yet never came
close to being as successful as Uncle Larry. It isn't what you have
that makes you successful; it is what you do with what you have
that makes the difference.
Abraham Lincoln, being a man of action, said,
"Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left
behind by those who hustle". It is amazing how many people
get bogged down in analyzing, planning, organizing and getting
ready-to-get-ready when what they really need to do is take action
and hustle. Just do something and success will be yours.
Author's Bio
John
Rowley's amazing rise to the top has become the stuff of legend
and inspiration. His credentials include being a college athlete
whose career was cut short by a near fatal car accident, a career
as a janitor and the nerve to tackle the high powered world of Manhattan
real estate and the dynamic international field of fitness. Although
John's athletic career was cut short he studied kinesiology, exercise,
anatomy, fitness and nutrition with intensity in order to get his
body healthy again after the devastating accident.
Knowing success left
clues, John also immersed himself in the study and implementation
of the science of human potential and peak performance. Success
came but not without obstacles. John has been on the verge of bankruptcy
and at times his family didn't have food to eat or money to pay
the bills but John was unwilling to give up. With his wife Cathy
at his side and without connections John started at the bottom as
a janitor in Brooklyn and then earned a position at one of the most
prestigious real estate companies in Manhattan. John also bought
R&J Health Studio, started several other companies and was involved
with real estate investments over the years but John was always
convinced that his savviest investment was in himself and in the
people around him.
In real estate John
made a name for himself managing some of the most prestigious properties
on Park Avenue and the upper east side of New York and managing
the holdings for many notables including Harry and Leona Helmsley.
John also owned R&J Health Studio, the gym known as "The East
Coast Mecca of Bodybuilding.'' R&J Health Studio received international
attention when it was featured in the movie, Pumping Iron, starring
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. John is an internationally
recognized motivational and fitness expert, and is a columnist for
several publications and maintains an academic certification as
a Certified Fitness Trainer. He routinely consults with athletes
and business people alike helping them to revitalize their bodies
and ignite their passion and energy through diet, exercise and a
well balanced emotional and spiritual life for lifelong success.
John's motivational,
inspirational and sometimes bold tell-it-like-it-is attitude is
a fresh approach to lifelong success.
John's book, Climb
the Ladder of Success Without Running Out of Gas! Will
be released in August 2007 by Morgan James Publishing.
